Our recovery programme provides self-empowering support which focuses on ideas and techniques to help people in addiction change their life from one that is self-destructive and unhappy to one that is constructive and satisfying. Willow’s recovery programme teaches scientifically validated methods designed to empower the service user to change and to develop a more positive lifestyle.
Addictive behaviours are created as a coping mechanism and may be effective in the short term, but normally cause harmful problems in the long term. Our programme focuses on learning positive coping skills that work both short-term and long-term. We base our ideas on what addiction science has shown to be effective and have created a number of tools to assist change. We concentrate on working towards behavioural change by building and maintaining the motivation to change, coping with urges to use, managing thoughts, feelings, and behaviours in an effective way and striving to live a positive and healthy life.
